The Sofia Echo, the most popular newspaper in Bulgaria, has reported that prices
in the Bulgarian ski resort of Pamporovo have been held at 2010 levels, prior to
the start of the ski season. Due to the current global economic situation, ski packages
are being offered at 20% below 2008 prices.
Bulgarian ministers, including deputy
economy minister, Ivo Marinov during his visit the town of Smolyan near to Pamporovo,
have indicated that prices should start and stay low, to give a much needed boost
to the tourist industry. This means that there will be many bargain ski holidays
in Bulgaria this ski season, given that the low costs in resort are being reduced
even further for the 2011/2012 ski season.
